Overview
The Royalty Education and Capacity Development Program operates primarily in Bolifamba, one of the communities affected by the socio-political unrest in the North-West and South-West Regions of Cameroon. The program’s overarching objective is to provide comprehensive educational support, including 500 fully funded scholarships for vulnerable children and youths, alongside adult literacy programs for 250 individuals by 2026. The scholarship program covers various essential components, such as tuition, school supplies, mentorship, coaching, and remedial or after-school classes, to ensure holistic academic support. Additionally, the program aims to establish a functional library and literacy classes, offer income-generating schemes and vocational training to parents, and foster awareness of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through dedicated youth forums. The current scholarship program for the academic year 2022/2023 has benefited 118 scholars, comprising 84 females and 30 males, with a distribution across various educational levels, from daycare to higher institutions, fostering a comprehensive and inclusive approach to education and capacity development.

The Transformative Leadership Academy (TLA Bamenda 2023) organized by Royalty World, supported by Dr. Moma Cletus, aimed to empower young leaders in the Bambili community, fostering community development through leadership skills. Led by expert coaches, the five-day boot camp included insightful visits, personal development sessions, and spiritual reflections, culminating in community project presentations. The grand graduation ceremony marked a successful conclusion, highlighting the profound impact of the academy in cultivating effective leadership and fostering community development. Notably, the event emphasized teamwork and sustainable solutions for community challenges, indicating a promising direction for future boot camps.

The Holiday Skill Development Programme, a culminating event at the end of the academic year, serves to engage and empower scholars during extended holidays. The program focuses on imparting essential knowledge in various areas, including principles of finance, leadership, menstruation, and the sustainable development goals. Through this comprehensive curriculum, scholars gain valuable insights and skills crucial for personal and community development. Subsequently, the scholars actively mobilized the community, spearheading two impactful initiatives: a Clean-up Campaign and the Planting of Trees. These initiatives reflect the scholars’ dedication to promoting environmental sustainability and community awareness, showcasing their commitment to fostering positive change and sustainable practices within the Bolifamba community.
